Anastasia's Mind Fog and Short Stories

Poetry

Poetry is full of emotions, feelings and experiences. I enter all of these into each poem and short story--romance, confusion, abuse, beauty, love for pets, love for people and actual dreams. Therapists recommend keeping a journal. I maintain my journal in both poetry and short story formats. I wrote my first piece in 1986 when my father passed. Since then, numerous events have taken place in my life and been unearthed during therapy. Poetry is emotional for me and each emotion is in a poem or short story. I hope my readers will find solace, understanding and knowledge within these pages.

The Weeping Pages

Poetry

She opened the book with the thought in mind that the remedy was finally here. She thumbed cautiously through the content exploring one damp page after another until she developed a sense that gave meaning to her purpose…. First of all, I informed her of “The Tainted One.” Secondly, I shared with her “My Pain.” Thirdly, I asked her, “What Have I Done?” Finally, she read “The Last Poem.” She closed the book just after collapsing aimlessly by a window that overlooked the yard. I noticed a tear fall from her eye…and then I noticed another. I joined her as she wept. She looked at me timidly as she gathered herself. “What was this?” she asked. I told her it was The Weeping Pages….

A Toast from My Cup to Thine

Poetry

Many times I have felt alone but have found comfort and a firm foundation in friends and family. My father used to say, “A soul is a soul ultimately standing alone before God the Father.” My mother used to tell me that it’s not what happens to you that matters but your attitude that God sees. I have drunk the wells of salvation deeply and wish to pour out a life of praise in the pages of this poetry. For out of my belly flow rivers of living water. May my readers know that life is not a perpetual crushing of the soul. May they overcome even in weakness and brokenness while they lean on Jesus, the firm foundation. You’ll find in this book a sweet aroma to Him, for he opened a window and gave me a peek of treasures written in He and me.

Beautiful Moments of Joy and Peace

Poetry

The inspiration for this collection of poetry comes from the beauty found in nature, people, music and all of life. These poems are overflowing with joy and express an inner peace that can be found in spite of difficulties and adversity. Connie Arnold has experienced the variety of the beauty of God’s creation in different places during her life, having lived in Texas, Louisiana, Nebraska and, currently, in North Carolina, where she lives with her husband Tom. Her first poetry was as text for music, which has always been important to her. There is music in poetry as well as beauty. She has learned the importance of words and how they can be used for encouraging and healing. Additional inspiration has come from the joys of a happy marriage, two children, their spouses, the recent addition of grandchildren, and other family and friends. These poems are meant to inspire and to offer moments of joy and peace through all circumstances of life. Connie has been dealing with lupus for several years. She has found strength and a sense of healing through the creation of these poems and hopes that, in your reading of them, you will find encouragement, inspiration, joy, and peace.

Mind's Diary

Poetry

Mind’s Diary is a collection of poetry that represents a series of reminiscences.

Parts of the compilation try to share a distinct character which can be attributed to a specific time and place as in “Texas Summer.” Other poems portray the wonder and beauty of nature as a man ponders his place within it as pronounced in “Starry Night.” Throughout this collection, the author uses language and rhythm to poetically illustrate his thoughts and observations.

Petals of Life: A Survivor's Writings

Poetry

Petals of Life: A Survivor’s Writings is a collection of poetry written from the viewpoint of an abuse survivor. Though the majority of the pieces are of a personal nature to the author, brought on by something she has experienced, some are not. Mrs. Martin hopes that the reader can be touched by each piece and find an inner serenity and hope in them. As a victim and now survivor of abuse and advocate against it, Mrs. Martin hopes that her words will enlighten a society that has tended to overlook the abused and neglected. Petals of Life: A Survivor’s Writings will make you feel and hopefully take action.

Reflections in My Tears

Poetry

Reflections in My Tears is an emotional collection of poetry and prose by Candice M. Martin, author of Petals of Life: A Survivor’s Writings. Mrs. Martin, a survivor of childhood abuse, rape and domestic violence, writes with such heart and soul that many say that she writes for them. In Reflections in My Tears, Candice M. Martin continues healing through words and becoming stronger each day. In her battle with PTSD, depression and epilepsy, she has found that writing has given her not only inner healing, but the voice she had long ago silenced.

Unfinished Communication from the Foot of the Cross

Poetry

Finding peace in the midst of despair is the driving force behind this collection of poems. These compositions oscillate between the glory and terror of what it means to be human. They ultimately show that we can only find our true purpose and hope by facing and understanding our absolute depravity and laying it at the cross.

101 Random Ramblings & Poems

Poetry

Author Rhonda Moats’ true emotions flow through this collection of her poetry. She bares all in her writing. You will find heartache and pain, anger and frustration stemming from the trying times of her life. She will make you cry and comfort you at the same time. Some may cry for her sorrows, while others will find solace in her words. She calls her writing an act of self therapy. “It’s better to write and release than to keep bottled up,” she says.

She is venting and wants the world to hear her.

Darning the Threads of Life

Poetry

Born and raised in Manchester, England, one of Victoria’s earliest poems was written when she was just eleven years old and published in the local newspaper. She has continued to write ever since, whenever time and emotion allow.

The birth of her son, loss of her beloved father and grandmother, and breakdown of relationships coupled with life’s ups and downs have all played a large part in the production of this poetry compilation.

A mixture of poetry styles, genre, and at least one verse to which each and every one of us can relate make this book personal to everyone and creates an understanding between reader and author. Calling upon her memories and feelings of past and present relationships, her career, and her family and friends, the author uses these to enhance her writing and develop verse.

There are deep emotional attachments to most of the verses which relive the times in the author’s life at which the feelings were experienced but there are also some light-hearted poems which are intended to create questions in the mind of the reader and encourage us all to revisit our pasts.

Here also are the lessons learnt by many of us and of those of us young enough to not have experienced deep emotional rigors of life, there are lessons to be learnt. One thing guaranteed within this book: there is a verse for all of us from the young to the old.

We Belong to Each Other

Poetry

From the author of We Belong to Each Other:

“My poems resemble pages of my life. They portray my emotional revolution from anguish to bliss, presented through various forms of imagery and lyrics, combined with themes of transformation of my mind and body through sleep, dreams, love and natural phenomena. By using poetry as a mirror of my innermost being, I am revealing my undisclosed existence in response to my life experiences. It is my greatest hope to impart to my generation and the generation in the making, how love and the presence of a true friend can pull rank over pain and tears.”

Liquored Words & Afterthoughts

Poetry

Susan Voth has been writing since the age of twelve. She has finally decided to publish her first book of poetry. While her poetry may seem dark to some, most find her pieces intriguing. She attributes her writing to a life well lived, though with some unfortunate occurrences. Going down her beaten and worn-out path, she has struggled to stay on the straight and narrow. Luckily, she has found herself through her pen.

Everything That I Am: Part One

Poetry

“Spokentruth” was born Patrick Wayne Dockett on December 24, 1980. The second of three children, Patrick started writing poetry at the age of twelve. Poetry was his escape after his parents split, which forced him, his mom, older brother and younger sister, to live in their former house with no working utilities. A weaker person would have crumbled but Patrick’s mother excelled under pressure. The next three years would prove difficult for the family as Patrick’s mother continued to work toward her bachelor’s degree in English at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, despite all of the odds stacked against her. A firsthand witness to his mother working two full-time jobs as well as maintaining a full load at the university, Patrick knew that she had the weight of her family’s survival on her shoulders. In one of his poems, Patrick records: “Despite a life filled with poverty and hardships year after year, I’ve not heard from her lips one obscenity nor from her eyes seen one tear.” His mother was his hero and his only reason for going public with his poetry. Patrick graduated high school in 1999 and attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff majoring in English (liberal arts). He completed three years before relocating to California with aspirations of being an accomplished author. He currently attends San Diego City College. Writing the truth as he experiences it, Patrick looks to touch all different audiences with his poetry.

All Glory Is His!

Christian Inspirational

“All glory is HIS!” This statement comes from my heart. This is what I want my readers to understand. I am no different than anyone else. I put on makeup and fuss with hair issues like every other woman. God simply chose to give me a writing ministry! He may give you a ministry of a different kind. We all should have the same focus—bringing others to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and drawing believers even closer to Him.

This book of Christian inspirational poetry came about after establishing my first website, www.allgloryishis.com. I discovered that my poetry page was one of my most visited sites.

My prayer is that you will find hope, joy, peace, and comfort in the poems you read here. If they bring you closer to the Lord, then all glory belongs to Him!

Falling Petals: A Collection of Poems

Christian Inspirational Poetry

Falling Petals is the poetic expression of the author’s fifty-year search for meaning in life. It represents her thoughts and emotions about humor, birth, death, renewal, motherhood, fatherhood, love and nature. Born and raised with no particular faith, she nevertheless searched inwardly and outwardly until God answered her prayer in an extraordinary way through his Word and the Body of Christ. The author believes that sometimes God reveals his love for humanity in the lifetime of a person by sharing her joys and sorrows through experiences of faith and prayer. These poems reflect a young girl’s experiences through her teenage to golden years, on her challenging and rewarding journey.

Forever Moments

Poetry

Forever Moments is a collection of warm-hearted poems. It is my hope that this collection causes the reader to reflect upon their innermost thoughts and feelings. I hope this collection moves the reader to experience their own emotions through the expression of my own personal experience. I hope that these words are related to by all who read them. Forever Moments speaks to the emotions common within all of us. It speaks of love in all of its many forms…from its ability to sneak up on us in everyday events, where we are less likely to recognize it, to our universal need to share love with others…. Each poem demonstrates, with its own tone, a different, yet common emotion. My hope is that by reading this book, the reader will be able to somehow identify with each poem and realize that, as humans, we all experience the same emotions. Further, I hope that because of that realization, the reader is able to better identify with all people on a deeper, more spiritual level. Love endures, no matter its form…Forever Moments.

Watercolour Essences of Moon

Poetry

Christala Rosina’s poetry reflects her deep affinity with the English Romantic poets, especially Shelley and Coleridge. In embracing the full spirit of their literary age with its sublime landscapes, anguished yearnings and vast imaginative power, Christala’s approach, like that of the Romantics, is beautiful and passionate; searching and insightful; sweeping and melodic. Through imagery bursting from its own synaesthetic richness, she frequently achieves a certain ‘beyondness’ of thought, dissolving divisive barriers and blurring illusory boundaries. Visionary and mystical, Christala weaves subtle tapestries from ethereal echoes and reflections, cast from the images of eternal truths and beauty around us. As we emerge from a century noted for its alienation and separation, she achieves something of a modern Romantic renaissance, particularly regarding the essentially Romantic preoccupation with the concept of ‘unity in diversity.’ Christala’s words shimmer through veils of light and music and write their signature on soul, mind, and heart alike.

The Eyes of My Soul

Poetry

Patrice Renee Jones was born in Washington D.C., but resided in Capital Heights, Maryland as a teenager. Growing up the youngest of nine children, Jones received endless love from both of her parents and siblings. With such an abundance of love, she began to feel sheltered and became curious to know what life was like outside the doors of her home. So, at the age of eighteen, she made a conscious decision to move away from home and to explore life as an "adult." It was then that she learned first-hand that life on the outside was not as loving as the home she left.

In the Eyes of My Soul, Jones takes you through passages of triumph, courage, love, loss and success, as she shares her stories and the stories of others.

The 26 year old has studied at some of the most prestigious schools in the country, University of Maryland and Georgetown University. Presently, she resides in Bowie, Maryland with her husband, Harry Washington, Jr. and their son.

Jones hopes that those who read, The Eyes of My Soul will gain a sense of peace in knowing that someone else has been in their situation ... and it will get better.
